Playwriting
Elaine's short plays have been performed at various venues in London and the South West. A few highlights:
'Storm', a play about a couple submerged in grief following the disappearance of their daughter, was staged at The Egg in Bath as part of an Engage Theatre Project in 2018
'Anchor', a play about love and belonging, was selected for performance by the Juno Theatre Company and staged at the Salisbury Arts Centre in February 2016
‘Who Wants to Be Normal?' A play about the rise in cosmetic surgery among young women, staged as part of the Little Pieces of Gold new writing showcase at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013
’Dead Gorgeous’, a play dealing with themes of friendship, love and death, was staged in Bath in Spring 2013 and went on to be performed at the International Convention of the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Society of Medicine in London later that year.
‘In the Line of Fire', a play about a female war reporter and her struggle to balance her professional and family responsibilities was produced by the Old Bag Theatre Company and staged at the Rondo in Bath in February 2016
'Dog Day Sunday Afternoon’ a 45-minute comedy exploring the relationship between three women and their dogs, was staged at The Mission Theatre in Bath as part of an evening of comedy in Spring 2013
'My Sister Too', a monologue dealing with anti-semitism in Britain today, was staged as part of the annual new writing showcase at the Rondo Theatre in May 2015
